The crisis in the world seems to have no end, especially in Africa where crises have become their breakfast, lunch and dinner. The claim that a fearless journalist once saw Satan at Somalia could probably be true going by the never-ending crises situations there.
Much has been said about the devil in many colors to suits different conversations in order to impress other listeners about ones knowledge about the devil. Some people claimed to have even seen father devil in real life or in their dreams.
But what caught my attention as very odd amongst all those claims were the ones by this intrepid journalist by the name Nicky Belig. According to report, he was a reporter for an east European news service and his claims of having seen the devil in Somalia was the main headlines back in the early 90s.
I happened to come across a photocopied page of one newspaper with a story about this odd world of ours. The story was culled from the SUN. The headline was ‘Satan was seen in Somalia,’ and there was this photograph of the devil hovering over the Somalians in their refugee camps with a glee.
Now if we could expertly fake photographs in 2006, could it have been possible to fake them in the early 90s? That the photographer had some little strong drink and had only a little night sleep could have been experiencing hallucinations.
But the picture baffles me. There are claims then that experts examined more than a dozen rolls of film that the photographer reporter took and they couldn’t fault it. If these claims are true, then I strongly believe that the devil is still there.
There must be something that made the devil to have exposed himself and to be photographed. Somalians could have unknowingly offended the devil and since then, it has been pay back time.
If the devil was truly offended and he is now fighting back, then the UN should set a Spiritual peace keeping force there and not a military peace keeping force. Religious leaders should be called upon to pray for the entire world for peace to reign, especially in Somalia where the devil seems to love or hate so much.
Whatever it is, I still need clarification on the genuineness of the story and the photograph. And I urge all of us to fight the devil with prayers. Prayers are the only key to fight the devil and put an end to not only Somalians or African crises but also the crises that have engulfed the entire world.
